Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Measurement & Reporting

COVID-19 has further highlighted existing data gaps in cardiovascular rehabilitation (CR), as consistent and reliable data to show the impact of COVID-19 on CR is not currently available. CorHealth’s COVID-19 Cardiac Rehabilitation Stakeholder Forums confirmed the need for regular, reliable, and comparable data regarding CR activity in Ontario; including data on activities prior to, during, and post COVID-19.

Recognizing the challenges associated with CR data collection, such as limited resourcing and information standardization, CorHealth is exploring the feasibility of cardiovascular data collection as a way to support planning, system monitoring and performance measurement. This work represents a future potential opportunity for broader CR data collection and measurement & reporting strategies.

After a pause due to competing demands on the community of practice during the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are looking to launch this initiative in the Fall of 2021. Stay tuned for more information during out next Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Forum.
